Take Mr. T's 6-E Guarantee!
I believe there are 6 Essentials all students should bring to class every day. In fact, my bet is, if you take my 6-E Guarantee, you will discover the peace of mind and self-satisfaction that John Wooden talks about in his definition of success. Try it!
The Six Essentials...
1. Textbook
2. Pencil/Pen
3. Binder/Folder/Trapper
4. Social Studies work (assignments, notes, readings, maps, etc.)
5. Planner
6. Leisure book (also could be work from another class, a magazine, drawing tablet, etc.)

Being a partner in your child's education...1.Be involved. Know what your child is studying. Keep yourself tuned in — utilize this website as well as the district website (www.laingsburg.k12.mi.us) to keep you posted.
2. Don't be a "wonderer" -- wondering what's going on or wondering why something is happening. Ask a question, express a concern, suggest a solution, or share an idea. You can email me anytime at jabe.thomas@laingsburg.k12.mi.us. You can also call me at school (517-651-5034, ext. 1040). The best time to call is between 7:00-7:30 a.m. or 9:00-9:45 a.m. Email is preferred. You can also follow me on Twitter at MrThomas209 or sign up to receive text messages (see above) to keep informed of what's happening in my classroom and at LMS. 3. Understand that middle schoolers do have homework and will have to study from time to time. Don't ask your child "if" they have homework, rather, ask your child "what" today's work is, and when he or she is supposed to have it completed. Ask if you can help. Then check to see that the work is done. |
